Alice Ann McNeil, age 86 of Traverse City, died February 18, 2019. Alice was born on July 18, 1932 in Cedar, Michigan to Thomas and Katherine Popa. She married the love of her life, Lawrence L. McNeil on June 27, 1953. Alice retired from Shell Western E & P in 1991 after 15 years of service. Alice loved taking rides with her son, Tom. She would always comment on the blue skies and sunny days. In her younger days, she liked playing Euchre and Poker and back in the day, she was quite the Polka dancer with her husband. She enjoyed Bingo, playing Sequence, playing the slots and doing her daily crosswords. She loved watching her Chickadees, Cardinals, Humming Birds and Orioles but Blue birds were her favorite. Alice liked cooking as long as she was able but she loved going to Applebee's. Her faith in God was so strong. She would pray every morning before starting her day. She was such a strong positive women even through her hardships in life. She enjoyed watching the 700 Club at 10:00am every morning and Oak Island on Tuesday evenings as well as nightly Jeopardy. Alice enjoyed watching baseball and her Detroit Tigers. Her family was her life!

Alice is survived by her children; Kay McNeil of Mt. Pleasant, Tom McNeil of Traverse City and Christi R. (Jack) Olman of Traverse City, grandchildren; Shane T. Olman of Interlochen and Alicia (Matt) Huston of Kingsley, siblings; Julie (Joseph Michael McAuliffe) Popa and Katherine Stachnik, sisters in law; Ruthie Popa and Betty Popa, brother in law; Donavin Herman.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Katherine Popa, her husband of 46 years, Lawrence L. McNeil who passed away on August 9, 1999; children, Michael G. McNeil and infant Francis McNeil, siblings; Thaddeus (Rosie Korson) Popa, Thomas Popa, Rosemary (Ralph) Couturier, Theresa Herman, Harry (Barbara) Popa, Leonard Popa, Mary Popa, Gertrude (Meda) Lamie, Irene (Stanley) Walters and Agnes (Joseph) Brzezinski, brother in law, Louis Stachnik.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Family will greet friends one hour prior.
