Arlene Helen Kirsch, 86 age, of Traverse City, died July 20th 2021. She was born on August 28, 1934 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Jules Howard and Mary Gladys (Weisse) Rohdy.

Arlene was from a family of fourteen; seven brothers and seven sisters, she was the 8th child born.

Arlene married Kenneth H. Kirsch on May 19, 1956 in Traverse City, MI.

Later in life she worked Sara Lee becoming a Union Steward and retired in1995 after 15 years of service.

Arlene was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of Eagles.

She enjoyed traveling, woodworking, painting, crafting, and camping. Arlene also found enjoyment in dancing, playing music with the “fun bunch”, and spending time with family. She also loved making rocking horses for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proudest of her family. Arlene often said that her family was her greatest accomplishment.

She was proud to be a Blue Star Mother of two sons who were in the Armed Forces.

She is survived by her children, James Richard (Nancy) Kirsch, daughter, Debra Kirsch (Jerry) Nolan; Kenneth Henry (Peggy) Kirsch Jr., Robert Allan Kirsch; sisters, Marilyn Brown, Barbara DeNeff, Caryol Lautner, Patricia Wurm; brothers, Fred Rohdy, Roy Don “Donny” Rohdy; 8 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H Kirsch; brothers, Howard Rohdy, Gene Rohdy, Robert Rohdy, Richard Rohdy, George Rohdy; sisters, Fern Batten and Mary Rau; and her parents Jules and Mary Rohdy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Arlene's honor to the Hospice of Michigan.

A celebration of Arlene Kirsch’s life will be held on September 4th at the Kings Court Community Room from 11am to 3pm, the family will serve a light lunch for all guest and share stories of Arlene’s life.
