Barbara Farrell

Barbara Helen Farrell, 94, of Traverse City, died Thursday, April 10, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Anthony and Helen M. (Neeson) Trinka.

Barbara was a Professional Floral Designer and was employed by various horticultural and flower shops throughout her lifetime.

She enjoyed cooking, “Food is Love” and would feed anyone who crossed her doorstep whether or not they were hungry. Barb loved crafting, reading, playing cards, but most of all spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Rodger) Schaap, Kathleeen (Aubrey) Carmien, Elizabeth Clement, daughter in law Ann Chouinard, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandkids.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rosalie, husbands, Lawrence Chouinard, Roy Farrell, sons Anthony and Gary Chounard, son-in-law Marty Clement and special friends, Dick McCumby and Rodger Schaap, Sr.

We would like to thank her remarkable friends Mike and Patty Huff and the staff at The Villa for their Heartfelt and Wonderful Care that she received.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cherryland Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Life Story Funeral Home. Visitation and cookie reception with Barbara’s favorite cookie will start at 1:00 pm.
