Memorial Services will be held 1pm, Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Sojourn Church, Traverse City.

Barbara Ann Moden Wilson of Traverse City, died January 4, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 23, 1955 in Pontiac, Michigan the daughter Vivian (Snyder) Moden.

From her youth, Barbara was very gifted and talented. She was active in Girl Scouts for six years; played on a Jr. Varsity basketball team, loved cheerleading, and was a medaled roller skater in dance.

During her career, she attended several colleges and received Certification from Pontiac Business and Medical Institute. She worked in many areas of the medical field including a senior position in Forensic Pathology and Life After Death Research at the University of Tennessee, as well as ICU, ER, Cardiology, Speech Pathology for stroke and closed head injuries, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. She enhanced her studies later on in Behavioral Cognitive Mental Health and PTSD.

She loved attending church, studying scripture, and served her church in Worship Choirs and Worship Praise Teams throughout her life. She also served her community as a Humanitarian working with the homeless, mentoring young adults and children, sharing her compassion. She loves her children deeply and was involved in their lives by volunteering her time in their many activities. She faced and overcame many challenges, constantly strengthening and enhancing her relationship with God and her children.

She had a passion for art and went to Art School. She became an accomplished oil Artist for over 25 years. Her love of family and God is prevalent through most of her paintings. She was an avid gardener and had a deep appreciation for horticulture. She had a great sense of humor, a chatty nature, loved music, singing, dancing (including tap), sailing, sewing, and had a multitude of creative abilities that she shared with others. Words will never express how deeply she will be missed.

She is survived by her beloved children; Shannan Marie Moden and her children with Johnny Winford Wilson; John David W. Wilson (Jessica Graham), and Sara Nicole C. Wilson; her grandbabies, Owen Star Thomas W. Williams, Boo (John David Wilson Jr.), Jordan Wilson, Jacob Wilson; step-granddaughter, Ava Graham; her siblings, Linda Moden, Debra Barash, John Moden and Claude Leverette; her nephews and niece, Jonathan Arntz, Amanda Burrill, and Jesse Guzman; her Susu Wooton, her Dilly Bean and Jennifer Neve; her Jennifer Lynn Lemcool and Caitlin and Nicholas.

She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Vivian (Synder) Moden; her beloved niece, Meghan Louise Guzman; her best friend, Tammy Parks and her cats, Blossom and Gabby.

Memorial Services will be held 1pm, Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Sojourn Church, Traverse City. Condolences can be sent to the family to 10650 Heather Glen, Middleville MI, 49333. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her children for her grandbabies, to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or a tithe to your local church in memory of her name.
