Carl Schlueter

Carl O. Schlueter, 73 of Boyne City, formerly of Traverse City passed away on August 7, 2019 after a brief bout of cancer. Carl was born in Traverse City on October 7, 1945 the son of Carl Oscar and Bernice Cecilia (Zeits) Schlueter.

Carl graduated from Traverse City High School in1963 and later attended Northwest Michigan College and the Greer Technical Institute of Chicago, Illinois. Carl served his country in the US Air Force from October 4, 1965 to January 31,1969.

Carl married Shirley Ann Lavender June 3, 1967 in Macon, Georgia; she passed away on June 18, 2006..

Carl enjoyed fishing hunting, slot car racing, watching his brother play music and spending time with his family.

Carl retired from Peninsula Construction and then enjoyed working at Art's Auto.

Carl is survived by wife, Sherry Schlueter; they were married on April 28th, 2019; daughters, Shelia M. (Ty Hayman) Schlueter, Sherry (Scott) Opper; grandchildren, Priscilla, Cassandra, Haleigh, Jacob, Gabrielle, Dustin, Ashley, and Geoffrey; great-grandchildren, Korbyn, Kymber, Dawson and Oliver; siblings, Linda Puffer (Milt Irish), Brenda (Jim) Harrelson, David (Malu) Schlueter, Duane (Rachel) Schlueter; many nieces; nephews and stepchildren, Jeremy Scott Toton, Jessica Bearup; step-granddaughter, Billijo Lewis.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Bernice Schlueter.

An informal gathering and light food reception will be held from 11am to 1pm; with a brief service at 1pm, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 Hammond Rd. W.
