A devoted man of faith, loving husband and father, and loyal friend to many. Curtis Ronald Bloom passed away peacefully, Monday May 25th, surrounded by his wife Mary and daughter Cortney.

Born June 1, 1958 to Ronald (Joan) Bloom, Curt grew up in Grand Rapids, MI. After graduating high school, he began working at General Motors. Curt worked there for over 30 years before retiring. For the last 2 1/2 years he worked for Life EMS as a mobility driver, using his role as a way to witness to others.

In his spare time, it was very well known of Curt to be found rocking his grandson and great nieces and nephews. He could make any baby stop crying with the sound of his gentle humming and rock of his chair.

He was also known to be found tinkering around in the pole barn working on projects or helping corral the goats back into the pen.

Curt loved his family very much. He accepted Jesus into his heart at a young age and took his role as “steward of Christ” seriously. It was common for him to strike up deep theological conversations with just about anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Bloom, daughter Cortney (Jon) Elders, daughter Becca (Luke) Hall, and son Trevor Bloom. He is also survived by his brother Scott (Janine) Bloom, and sister Kimberlee Oom-Sprinkle (Bob Dixon). One grandson, Jayce, with one on the way.

He was reunited with both his parents and two grandchildren.

Curt will always be remembered for his love for God as well as his love of family and friends.

Matthew 28:18-20

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
