Darlene Ann Cox, 76, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 4th, 2020. Darlene was born on March 23rd, 1944 to George Marston Portice and Drucella Elizabeth Portice in Petoskey, Mi. Where she later graduated from Onaway High School. On July 18th, 1964 Darlene married the love of her life and soul mate, Robert E. Cox. Where they raised 3 daughters; Angela, Kimberly and Colleen.

Darlene was employed at Park Place, Waterfront Inn and TJ Maxx. After retiring Darlene felt life was best suited to spend with family... especially her grandkids and great grandchildren. She was passionate about being supportive to her family, being there whenever they needed her and emerging herself in all the kids activities to soak up as much time and memories as she could. She was the grandma that everyone wanted and dreamed about. She was also passionate about her faith and love for helping out as much as she could, ie St Judes. She had a big heart, and endless love to offer and give.

Darlene is survived by her 3 daughters; Angela M. Baker, Kimberly M. Challender (Jack), Colleen R. Orr (Robert). Her grandchildren; Brent R. Baker (Amanda), Kori L. Baker (Brandon Jones) and Alex S. Challender (Chelsea Axtell). Her Great grandchildren; Bailee, Zoey, Cameron, Alexis, Ellie, William, Erica, Madison, Tyler, Emma, Nicholas, Riley, Fyn, Aubrey, Spencer and Owen.

Darlene was proceeded in death by: her parents, siblings; Luella Middaugh, George Portice, Donald Portice and Betty Smith. Her husband and son in-law, Carl G. Baker, Jr.
