Life Story / Obituary
David Lynn Hudson, 78 of Interlochen, Michigan, died on February 11, 2025. He was born in Vallejo, California on April 13, 1946, to Irving Lynn and Virginia “Connie” Constance (Armentrout) Hudson.
David was very driven and innovative as a businessman. He was the founder and owner of Progressive Tool and Engineering in Toledo, Ohio. His inventive spirit and engineering mind lead him to create what his good friend called an engineering anomaly (Space Pet Toy). He sold the rights and patent to a Japanese company some years later. David’s work took him all around the world including Isreal, most of Europe, and parts of Asia. His hard work and successes in business allowed him freedom to pursue his dreams of raising a family in Northern Michigan.
He would consider his greatest success was marrying the love of his life JoAnn on October 6, 1972. His love and devotion to her was something to behold.
David was happiest on his 40 acres of woods in Interlochen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking, taking long walks, and spending time with his family.
He is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Society of Auto Engineers.
David is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; sons, David I. Hudson and Ryan W. (Kira) Hudson; 3 granddaughters, Lauryn, Olivia, and Hailey Hudson; and sister, Cheryl Sexton.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Connie Hudson.
A Funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Christ the King Catholic Church, Acme. The family will greet friends starting at 10 am. Private Burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn, Michigan at a later date.
