Life Story / Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of DeAnte Bland announces his unexpected passing at the age of 16 on June 13th, 2018 at his home in Kingsley, Michigan.
DeAnte will forever be remembered by his loving parents Nicole (Mark) Kitchen and Royal (Jamie) Bland. He is survived by his loving sister and best friend Bianca Bland and his right-hand man Isiah Kitchen along with sisters Breanna, Raven, McKayla and brother Royal Bland III. Grandparents Melody King, Deborah Long, Royal and Patricia Bland along with a host of aunts, uncles and loving cousins as well as many life long friends. He was preceded in death by his papa John King, cousin, Alexis Brown-Johnson, aunt, Kayla, uncles Jeremy and Jacob King along with several other special family members.
DeAnte attended Kingsley High School and Transition Central. He aspired to be in the Army after high school. He had an infectious smile that would light up any room. He loved to offer anyone in his passing a hug or fist bump. He had a heart of gold and loved to help anyone in need. He enjoyed body mechanics, working out with his mom at Planet Fitness, fishing, playing video games, hanging out with family and friends, nature hikes, swimming, time on the farm with his favorite cow “Molly”; jumping bales of hay with his brother, Isiah; reading Alex Rider novels, volunteering at Rainbow of Hope AFC, shopping on Wish.com, giving his mom foot rubs, singing and dancing with his Dad in the basement.
DeAnte cherished many people who crossed his path but a few that he spoke of frequently and the family would like to thank for always going above and beyond are Mike Moran, Kaly Vasquez, John Sandula, Dinah Hardt, Carl Hartman, Julie Lint, Scott Anderson and Joel Guy along with his TBAISD team. We are unable to list everyone but please know you were all very special.
Please know there is help available 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255 which is the Suicide Prevention Hotline.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 12 noon, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Kingsley High School. The family will greet friends starting at 10 am. A complete obituary will be in June 20th edition. Please visit www.lifestorytc.com to share your thoughts with the family. The family chose Life Story Funeral Home, 400 W.
