On Monday, October 5, 2020, heaven gained another angel. Delberta Lee Laskey, 76 of Traverse City, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born on July 22, 1944, in Detroit the daughter of Dan and Erma Lance. Her family moved to Buckley when she was a young child. She graduated from the Buckley High School in 1962. On April 11, 1964, at Immaculate Conception church she married the love of her life John Laskey.

Delberta worked as a cashier at Olesons Food Stores for many years. She then worked for Consumers Power as a customer service representative retiring in 2005.

She was very active in bowling and was on many bowling leagues. She loved to knit, trips to the casino and traveling to Las Vegas with John, enjoying wildlife in her back yard, morel mushroom hunting, canning and making fudge, which everybody looked forward to, as well as spending time with her grandchildren, Jonathan and Cambell.

Delberta is survived by her sons, Eric Laskey of Interlochen, twin sons, Jeff (Lynn) Laskey of Traverse City and Jason Laskey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan Laskey and Cambell Laskey; companion Lee Smith; sisters, Vada Jewell and Gloria Matthews both of Buckley, as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Joseph Laskey; brother, Delbert Lance and a sister, Mary Jane Griffin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Munson Regional Foundation; designate, Women’s Cancer Fund, 1150 Medical Campus Dr., Traverse City, MI 49684
