Dollena "Dee" Burd

Dollena Ann “Dee” Burd, 90 of Traverse City, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born on January 13, 1935 in Traverse City the daughter of the late William Roy and Gertrude Irene (Freeman) Gordon.

Dollena enjoyed sharing a meal at the Cherryland VFW Post #2780. For years she and her husband Jack belonged to the Mesick Amvets. She was a member of the Salvation Army.

She liked to Winter in Lake Havasu, Arizona and enjoyed family, most especially being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dollena is survived by her son, Mike (Connie) Hall; grandchildren, Tara (Eric) Steimel, Tracy Kirt, Chris Hall, Greg (Jammie) Hall, Corey (Andrea) Hall and great-grandchildren, John, Luke, Rachel, Skyler, Giavanna, Chloe, Caleb Chantel and Blake and Tia; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Burd; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Stanley “Poncho” Kirt; son, Benny Hall Jr. and siblings, Maxine (Delton) Hendges, Winifred “Wynn” (Vivian) Edwards and Charles (Dorothy) Gordon, Ilene (Stanley) Hill and the father of her children, Ben Hall Sr.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Northwest Michigan or the Leukemia Foundation.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, August 11, 2025 at Life Story Funeral Home with visitation starting at 3:30 pm. Visitation will continue until 6pm. Private burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City.
