Donald Devon Trimmer passed away on July 14, 2026 at the age of 95. He was born on December 29,1930 in Traverse City, MI to Devon and Clara Trimmer. He resided in Traverse City his entire life. He graduated from Central High School in 1949 and spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force Air-Sea Rescue as a S/SGT.
On August 8,1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Ann Elliott. They were blessed with four children. Thomas (Linda) Trimmer, Philip (Lisa) Trimmer, Shelley Collins, and Todd Trimmer. Don was a grandfather to 6 grandchildren: Angel Trimmer, Michael Trimmer, Rebecca Trimmer, Nick Collins, Ashley Smith, and Drew Collins. He was a great-grandfather to 13 and a great-great-grandfather to three.
Don is survived by a sister, Eilene (Carl) Bartlett; a sister-in-law, Janice (Rudy) Vuckov and a daughter-in-law, Linda Trimmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly; a son, Thomas; a sister, Delores (Wayne) Purkiss, and two brothers Jess and Carl Trimmer.
He retired from the Traverse City Postal Service in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and building his own homes. Don was active in various church ministries at several local churches throughout his life. Most recently he was a member of Sojourn Church.
There will be a private celebration of life at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sojourn Church.
