Douglas Lee Cassle was born on July 10, 1942 in Breckinridge, Michigan to parents Marvin and Goldie Cassle.

He was a loving husband, marrying Diane (Campagna) in 1982 and together they had a daughter Kristin, born in 1984. Doug is survived by his wife Diane; brother, Ron Cassle; nephew, Cory Cassle; daughters, Kristin Cassle, Lisa Cassle-Shinn, Ingra Miles, and Sherri Stahl; along with five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

At Doug’s core was his family and his faith. He found joy in lending a hand to friends and neighbors whenever possible and was a respected member of the Jehovah Witnesses congregation in Elk Rapids, MI.

Doug took pride in his career and for 25 years worked as a journeyman pipe fitter in both Colorado and Michigan. Spending time outdoors and pursuing athletics was another important aspect of his life, first excelling in high school sports, and later, exploring martial arts, dirt bike riding, running, x-country skiing and bowling to name a few.

He fulfilled a lifelong dream by designing and building a home on a picturesque wooded property in Williamsburg, MI. He loved working the land and spending time in his wood shop surrounded by the beauty and peace of nature.

A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
