Elizabeth Louise Winchell, 96 of Traverse City, formerly of Mesick and Flint died, October 22, 2019.

She was born on August 19, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of Alexander Frederick and Louise Sinay.

Elizabeth worked at A.C Spark Plug in Flint and met her husband, Donald R. Winchell; they were married 59 years.

She met every Tuesday at the “Gathering Place” in Honor for Song, Music and loads of fun and jokes. The third Thursday of every month she attended the G.M. Retirees Breakfast and she never missed either event.

Snowmobiling in the “Good Ole Days” brought Don and Elizabeth to the North from Flint where they lived the rest of their married life in Mesick.

The Buckley Wayside Chapel, Flag Day and the VFW were all very important to her. She was the BEST “treasure hunter”, and never passed up a bargain. She saved EVERYTHING!

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Greg Winchell, of Flint; nieces, Pauline Stevens of Clio and Mary Louise May of California; nephews, James Ritchie of Burton and Donald R. (Ann) Davy and their children, Jennifer, Nancy and Pamela and lifelong true friend, Rosie Nowicki of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Winchell in May of 2008.

Per Elizabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Burial will be with her husband, Don Winchell in Oregon Twp, Cemetery, Columbiaville. Please visit www.lifestorytc.com to share your thoughts with the family and more.
