Harold S. Jeffries, 88 years old, of Traverse City, MI., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wed. afternoon, Sept. 28, 2022.

He was born June 1, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA., the son of the late Joseph B. Jeffries and Winnie L. Jeffries(Collins). He was also the last surviving sibling to sister Evelyn Nelson, and brothers Bryan Jeffries and Olen Jeffries.

After graduating high school in 1934, he joined the US Navy, enlisting during the Korean War. He spent 4 years in active duty, returned briefly to civilian life, before re-enlisting in the US Naval Reserves, where he spent time in Vietnam.

He married Patricia A. Minnis in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958, and together they raised their two daughters: Michell Clishe, married to Gerald Clishe, and their four boys, Curtis, Aaron, Bryan, and Nathan; Shannon Jeffries, married to Cathy McGoff, and their two boys, Oliver and Maddoc. He is survived by all.

Harold loved to work with his hands, he could tinker and fix anything, and at the age of 60, he pursued his life's dream of building a house from the ground up, among the pines in Arrowhead, CA. He was so proud.

When he wasn't helping friends and neighbors with handyman work, you could find Harold enjoying many hobbies such as, fishing, camping, watching college football, tending to his garden and prized avocado tree, making home craft beer, combatting climate with water gathering inventions, carving bears out of dead wood trees, and as of recent, nature watching from the comfort of his sunny backyard deck. Until recently, Harold was not one to sit. He always needed a project, and was happiest in service of others.

He was a kind and private man, but his quiet nature could fill the room. Everyone who knew him, knew they were in the presence of a great human being. He will be deeply missed by all, including his beloved Molly.
