Life Story / Obituary

We are sad to announce that James Joseph Reamer (Jimmy) passed away on Feb. 28, 2023 at the age of 62, in his hometown of Kingsley, MI. His battle with serious medical issues in the recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with positivity and humor. He was a proud 4-year double lung transplant recipient and was suffering from Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Despite the pain, Jimmy came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was surrounded at home with so much love by many of his family and friends. He was a leap year child and passed away on his day of celebrating his birthday. He was born to Ralph Francis Reamer & Laura Eveline Ingham in Traverse City, MI. Jimmy met the love of his life, Danelle 12 years ago and they have been inseparable since. They supported each other in all aspects of life and together they made great soulmates! The love they have for each other is such an inspiration to many. They have always loved to share their stories about life and its unexpected but adventurous journeys together. She supported his business of many years in Lawncare, Landscaping and Snow plowing. He was a very talented man and loved sharing his talents and stories with others. He loved to be outside in any season, working or enjoying life, with blue skies and sunshine being his favorite. Over the previous years, Jimmy had started and maintained an RC Club w a track at his home for all to enjoy, pig roasts, even took up body building for a while, but his favorite spice in life was the dunes and running around in his Sand Rails or Baja bug! The faster the better was his model. His most FAVORITE thing in the world was CHOCOLATE! Anyone and everyone would always bring him his sweet treats! That was his (3) meals a day plan if left alone, LOL. This guy did not know how to cook, loved his sandwiches and cereal. Together, Jimmy and Danelle enjoyed their family the most. He loved his children fierce and wanted only the best for all of them, his grandbabies and great grandbabies were his true love and would light up his world like no tomorrow! He was known as Pa, and would wheel them around in the wheelbarrow or have them mixed up in whatever it was he was doing. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Laura Eveline Reamer, his 2 siblings, Dave Reamer & John Reamer. He is also survived by the love of his life, his wife Danelle Reamer, his children, Lee Reamer (Tiffanie), Lindsey (Chris Carlos), Adam Aldridge (Kait), Sarah Aldridge (Rich Schumkal), Heather Aldridge, his grandchildren, Anthony Reamer, Harmony Reamer, Daisy Jo Cullen, Miranda Jo Schumkal, Brayden Trombley, Brody Trombley, Lethan Carlos and Waylin Schumkal, Gage Aldridge and Ava Kaye Aldridge and his great grandchildren, Lucy Violet Cullen, Elena Jo Riley and his soul baby Braylan Joseph Lee Bell. We welcome everyone to join in the Celebration of Life held on March 29th, 2023 at the Eagles on 14th St in Traverse City from 4-8pm. Open to public.
