Jerry Johnson

Jerry Warren Johnson, 71, of Traverse City died Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was born on April 27, 1954 in Detroit the son of Joseph Warren and W. June (Shilling) Johnson.

Jerry graduated from West Bloomfield High School Class of 1972.

He was a Master Carpenter with Haenlien Builders in Traverse City building Custom Homes. He also made Custom Woodwork and Cabinetry. Most of all he enjoyed building things for his grandkids.

He loved boating on Long Lake, skiing (water and snow) Target Shooting, and playing loud music with his friends.

Jerry is survived by his brothers, Jay (Kim) Johnson and Joel Johnson, both of Troy and daughters, Laurie (Forrest) Whitmore and Amy (Jerry) Running; and grandchildren, Samuel and Henry Whitmore and Jenna and Sarah Running and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and June and wife, Beverly Ann (Redli) Johnson.
