Joseph “Dick” Noteware, 86, of Traverse City passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 with family by his side. Dick was born December 2, 1932 to Ruth (Courtade) and Albert Noteware.

After graduating from Traverse City Senior High School, he honorably served his country during the Korean War. Upon his return to Traverse City, he met Carol May Sieffert. They married on October 29, 1955, enjoying 63 years together.

Dick was a hard working, proud family man who was a union sheet metal worker. Upon retirement from the union, he worked as a groundskeeper on the Grand Traverse Resort golf courses. He greatly enjoyed golf in his later years and he and Carol had wintered in Florida the last 26 years, but he always returned home – to the house he had single-handedly built in Traverse City.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter, Ella.

He is survived by wife, Carol; Daughters Lynn (John) Martin, Shelley (Tim) Jeffers, Julia Noteware, Theresa (Nick) Boudjalis and Jennifer Noteware; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; Brother Tom (Barb) Noteware; Sisters Ann Rice, Barb (Jim) Curnow and Esther Mack.

His humor and loving support will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later date. Please visit www.lifestorytc.com to sign the guestbook and share your thoughts and memories with the family.
