Joyce Westcott

Joyce Westcott, age 84 of Traverse City, died May 30, 2019. Joyce was born on November 14, 1934 in Traverse City to Thomas and Laura (Gaines) Garetson. She enjoyed camping, looking for mushrooms, crocheting, playing shuffle board and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her daughters; Susan (Larry) Geiger-Phelps, Patricia (Adam) Holczman and Cindy (Richard) Wight; daughter in law, Nancy Westcott; son in law, Glenn Bennetts; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Laura Garetson; brother, Thomas "Sonny" Garetson; son, Charles "Chuck" Westcott; daughter, Connie Bennetts; son in law, Rex Geiger and special friend, Edward Bush. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, 11:00am at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City., Pastor Orson Deemer, officiating. A reception will follow at VFW Cherryland Post 2780.
