Preceded in death parents aunts and uncles , brother and sister in -law and her husband's.

Surviving family include her 2 sons, Gregory and Stephen and daughter Lynda; grandchildren, Erica (Harris) Dj and Shane Huston; 1 great grandson, Braydon and one fur grand baby, Missy.

She was born in Summit City, MI. in a farm house. Lena became an employee of the State of Michigan at the state hospital here in Traverse City in the 1950s and stayed with them until they closed .

She received her LPM license in Florida and worked for private duty and at the Sarasota Memorial. She retired 3 times, and last time from Munson as a chart prep at age 80.

She loved getting her hands dirty in warm soil for gardening. She was able to travel a little before passing. She will be very missed so get out there and dig in the earth.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Michael’s and All Angels Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00 am.
