Louann Rene Johnson, 45 of Traverse City went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 due to a horrible accident. Louann was born on April 9, 1976 in Traverse City, Michigan to the late Gary C. and Patricia Johnson.

Louann received her GED from Traverse City Area Public Schools and went to college for a short time at NMC. Her career started in managing restaurants and then she chose to start waitressing. She waited tables the longest at Bob Evans and met many people there and she loved her customers. Her most recent employer was the Dollar Tree and she enjoyed every minute of it. She attended East Bay Calvary Church and would always talk about how it made her feel even closer to Jesus when she was there.

She had many dogs through the years starting when she was very little. Every dog she had was a big part of the family. They were her siblings when younger and children when older.

Watching and spending time with her nephew, Raymond and great nephews, Asher and DeAnte always put a smile on her face.

She had the biggest heart, loved people and could always find the good in everyone. She gave so much to so many people. Even after she left us, some of her organs were donated to save other’s lives.

Most of the time you could find her walking in the woods and spending time by the water, watching sunsets and/or sunrises and staring at the clouds and sky. It would make her feel closer to God, giving her so much peace. Often in the summer she would enjoy swimming in the lake and/or bay.

She loved going shopping and enjoyed eating out with her family and friends.

Her favorite flower was a sunflower. “Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity.” The flower is known for being a “happy flower” and brings joy to others.” (proflowers.com) I believe this is why she loved them so much because they brought her great joy and others happiness.

She is survived by her sister, Holly (Ray) Davis; nephews and nieces, Eva Davis, Raymond Jr, Zac Davis, Tayler (Gabe) Wilson, Gary Sladek; great-nephews, Asher Sladek, DeAnte Wilson; aunt, Joyce, cousins and her boyfriend, Jeff Thornburg who brought her a lot of joy and happiness and her “step-kids” Jamie, Jay, David and Jonathan.

Louann is preceded in death by her parents, Gary C. and Pat Johnson, her niece, Elizabeth Davis, all her grandparents; many Aunts and Uncles and her partner, Tyler Tann of many years.

Funeral Service will be held 6pm, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at East Bay Calvary Church. The family will greet friends starting at 5pm. Memorial contributions can be written to Holly Davis to help pay for the funeral expenses.
