Marge Rundell of Traverse City passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2022. Marge was born on March 27, 1934 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her three children, (Joel, Jonathan, and Laura), 2 grandchildren (Ethan and Susan), and a son-in-law (Anthony Holtz). Marge is also survived by her sister (Mollie Saltarelli) and brother (William Greenwood).
Marge graduated High School in 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY. She attended Michigan State University where she met Gene Rundell, her future husband. They were married on August 13, 1955, in Niagara Falls, NY.
Prior to their retirement in Traverse City, Marge and Gene lived in Summit, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA, Lockport, NY and Adrian, MI. Wherever they lived, Marge and Gene had a large circle of friends and were valued members of their community. While residing in Adrian, Marge was an assistant at the public library, where she was able to share her life-long passion for reading with others.
Marge and Gene enjoyed their retirement years in Traverse City. Both volunteered at their local elementary school and were active members in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse. Marge enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. She shared this talent through her many years volunteering at the Community Lunch program, where she helped feed those in need in the Traverse City area.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Endowment Fund of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse (6726 Center Road, Traverse City, MI, 49686 or the Alzheimer’s Associations (www.alz.org).
