Michael Petzler Sr.

Michael Thomas Petzler, Sr., passed away March 27th, 2021 at Munson Medical

Center in Traverse City, MI.

Michael was born and raised in Troy, NY. After graduating high school, Michael

went on to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. When Michael returned

home from the war, he married Phyllis Catherine Darmetko, his wife of 51 years.

Together they raised four children. After the birth of their first child, they decided

to move to Traverse City, Michigan. He was happy to be in a place where the

fishing was good.

Michael will always be greatly loved by his family. He was a hard worker,

dependable, respectable, and the best husband/brother/father/grandpa that any of us

could have ever asked for. Michael always liked to make jokes and play pranks.

He always made sure that if you knew him, you were laughing. In his free time,

Michael loved watching the birds, listening to music, fishing, and playing with his

dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Petzler (Darmetko); his siblings; his children,

Michael Petzler Jr. (Carrie), Kimberlee Petzler, Andrew Petzler, and five

grandchildren, Darin Antoine, Alex Antoine, Michelle Nolan, AnnaLaura Petzler,

and Michael Petzler III.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Catherine Petzler (McCabe), and

his beloved daughter, Jennifer Antoine (Petzler).
