Orville John Redman, of Suttons Bay, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6th with his family and beloved dogs by his side after a 36 year courageous battle with heart disease. John gave that fight everything he had over those years along with the great cardiac care he received. John was born in Long Beach California on December 12th, 1943 where his father was in the service. When he was 9 months old they moved back to their hometown of Mesick where John was raised and graduated from High School.

John worked as an auto mechanic early in his career. He retired after 31 years at Sara Lee Bakery where he was a Group leader. He accomplished many certifications throughout his lifetime making him exceptional at fixing and building most anything. He built two homes from the ground up.

John was married to Brenda Sue Biggers for 46 years, they shared a love of traveling across the US including Hawaii and especially Alaska. He enjoyed many years of boating throughout the Great Lakes touring inlets and islands with other boating friends, John loved the water. John was an avid hunter his whole life. Most recently John spent his time wood-working, bird-watching, cooking and gardening. He was a big fan of the holidays and spending time with family. He was witty, funny and full of sayings that the family will take forward.

John is proceeded in death by his mother Dorothy, his father Orville, his brother Randy and his son Christopher.

He is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter Lorri Redman, son Robert (Christy) Brown, son Rodney (Theda) Brown, daughter Amy (Chris) Schons, sister Connie Redman, several grandchildren, great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned for this summer.
