Traverse City- Peggy Jo Grewe 73 of Traverse City, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 with many health issues.

She was born Nov. 13, 1946 in Obion, Tennessee the daughter of Ira and Alma Gray.

She married Bruce Wayne Grewe on June 25, 1966 in Muskegon, Michigan. Bruce and Peggy shared 50 years of marriage together. Peggy has always been a housewife. She not only took care of her own family but she loved "adopting" all of her children’s friends as family too. The friends always referred to her as mom, grandma or lady.

She loved cooking for other people. If someone popped in, she would invite them to eat no matter who it was. She knew how to make food spread. Her specialties were meatloaf, fried chicken, chocolate bread pudding and wacky cake. Her favorite thing to do was spoil any kids that came over, especially her grandkids. Her hobbies were scrapbooking and doing the brand White Mountain puzzles.

She is survived by siblings, Kenneth Gray, Sue Tallman, Larry (Sandy) Gray, Rose Tallman and Sandy (Ken) Moskwa; children, Bradley (Lois) Grewe, Michael (Selene) Grewe, Annette (Brian) Ahlgren and Marilyn Braun; grandchildren, Bethany White, Kayla Grewe, Jason Ahlgren, Jessica Ahlgren, Snowelle Grewe, and Dale Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Carmichael "CJ" White, Mya Lemcool and Jameson Alma.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Grewe; her parents, Ira and Alma Gray and son-in-law, Barry Braun.

An informal gathering will be held 2pm to 4pm, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 Hammond Rd. W., Traverse City, Michigan 49686. A limited number of people can be in the room, please pay your respects, say hello and allow others the same opportunity. Masks over the nose and mouth are required at the funeral home

A small graveside service will be held 2pm, Monday, Nov. 16, 2002 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, Michigan 49012 near Battle Creek, Michigan. Please line up in the cortege area at the entrance of the cemetery after 1:30 pm. Masks are required at the cemetery over the nose and mouth too. There will be a luncheon at the Prairie Baptist Church following the service at 11210 E. P Q Ave. Scotts, MI 49088.
