Bob was born in Traverse City to his parents Alvin and Clara Durga. He and his 8 brothers and sisters, Pat, Barb, Dorothy, Alvin, Clifford, Margaret and Nina grew up on 8th street. He attended Traverse City Central High School where he met Donna Marie Spaulding. They were married on Dec. 1, 1951 and lived at 712 Webster Street.
They had 4 children, Connie (Winn), Bobby, Steve and Dianna (Hepner). Bob and Donna had 66 Anniversaries together.
Bob spent his life working as a mason and later a maintenance technician at the Park Place Hotel and a Truck driver for a local Morse Hahnenberg Moving Company. He retired and had 19 years to fish, hunt and spend time with family and several grand kids. Bob loved to camp in his travel trailer as well. The family had to rent a hall for family outings as it’s so big.
The family will be having a celebration of life party this summer to be announced at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made the Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging.
