Roger William Priest, 86, of Grayling, died Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Munson Hospice House. He was born on May 12, 1938, in Rapid River Township, Michigan the son of Alger John and Susie Elizabeth (Woodhams) Priest.

Roger graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army as an MP and was very proud of his Military Service.

Roger retired as a Game Warden with the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife.

He enjoyed volunteering with the Crawford County Library and delivering Meals on Wheels with the Crawford County Commission on Aging. Roger loved to hike the local trails and be with nature, which also included spending time out in the woods hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader and loved animals, especially dogs, and always had one as a beloved best friend. He was a lover of Detroit sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. Roger was also strong in his faith.

Roger is survived by his children, Stephanie (Enrico) Castellano, Kristen (Cliff) Proctor, Steve Priest, and 2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Delmer, and a very special niece, Susan Ray.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alger and Susie and siblings, Margaret, David, Herbert and Myron.

Contributions may be made to the Crawford County Library or the Crawford County Commission on Aging.

Private services were held. Burial will be in the Cold Springs Twp. Cemetery, Mancelona in the spring.
