Terrence "Terry" Pickard

Terrence “Terry” Lee Pickard passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, December 26th.

Terry was born to Howard and Betty (Akers) Pickard on Sept. 6th, 1950, of Traverse City, Mi.

On July 7, 2007 he married his surviving spouse of 14 years, Diana (Haining).

Terry is survived by his Daughter Holly Bireley of Hamilton, IN and 4 Grandchildren. Also surviving are several Nieces, Nephews, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, and Step-Children Robert (Emily) Austin, Christopher Austin, Michael (Pricila) Zamzes, Shelby Haile, Kathy (Neil) Wilgenhof, Gail Finnila, Jeff Liggett, Daniel (Robin) Hines, David Liggett, Danette Hines, Shelley (Bob) Cooper, and Bruce Stephans, whom he loved all very much. His Sister Sandy (Loren) Lautner, and Brother John (Vicki Long) Pickard.

Terry served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, in Radio Communications, over-seas, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. Terry retired from Bloxsom Roofing after 38 years.

Very quick witted and a giant heart, Terry loved spending time with his family, going to dirt track racing, and having coffee with the guys.

Terry was preceded in death by both parents, his brother James Pickard, sister Lori Pickard, son Terrence "Jason" Pickard, Grandson David Nolan, and Step-Son Jack Liggett.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

The family is being served by Life Story Funeral Home of Traverse City.
