William Mark Blanke, 68, of Grawn passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2020 at Munson Medical Center.

Bill was born in Traverse City on December 26, 1951 to William A. and Evangeline Blanke. He attended Immaculate Conception, Traverse City Central and graduated from Bishop Verot High School in Ft. Myers, Florida in 1970. He also attended Lansing Community College and Michigan State University before moving back to Traverse City to build a career in the construction trade. He was a talented cabinet maker and woodworker, a trait he learned from his father and passed on to both his sons.

He worked for Jay Rogers Builders, Farrington Development, Basch and Banton Construction and Eyewood Design over the course of his career before his retirement 2014.

Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy (Banton) Blanke,; his sons, Marcus (Brigette) Blanke of Interlochen and Keith (Jeannie) Blanke of Traverse City and three grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, and Kamryn Blanke; his sister, Jacqueline Morse of Traverse City; his brother, Wayne Blanke of Carbondale, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a private burial is being planned for a later date. In respect of his wishes no memorial service will be held.
