William Wurm

William Jerry Wurm, 80 of Traverse City, formerly of Lake Leelanau, husband of Patricia, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Munson Hospice House.

Bill was a mechanic by trade and owned his own service station, Eight Street Total, where he worked for several years before making his move to the City of Traverse Garage. He finished his career as a master mechanic but after retirement he was always available to help family and friends in his own garage.

Bill loved fishing small inland lakes in Northern Michigan, bass fishing on the bay, smelt dipping, and perch fishing in the UP with his sons, Bill and Scott. He also loved taking the family for boat rides down the many rivers and lakes in Winter Haven, Florida. He enjoyed many camping trips all over the State of Michigan. He especially loved the trip where his family rode horses across the state. Even though Bill was a quiet man, he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Rohdy) Wurm; they were married on August 26, 1961 at St. Francis Catholic Church. son, William David Wurm and William’s wife, Robanne Wurm; daughter, Jennifer Donohue (Wurm); five grandchildren, Corey Parish, Mackenzie Prokes, Ashley Wurm, Emily Donohue, and Samantha Donohue and two great grandchildren, Jayvin Perkins and Eric Edwards Jr.

He is proceeded in death by his two brothers, James Wurm and Charles Wurm and son, Scott Wurm.
