Alec July

Alec July of Traverse City died Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

He was born on July 10, 1928 in Flint, the son of Anthony and Katherine (Ploch) July.

Alec retired as an Electrician from the General Motors Corporation, Buick Division in Flint after 49 ½ years. He served as an elder of Otisville Church of Christ for 30 years. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, listening to music and singing.

Alec is survived by his wife; Sharon Mae (Smith) July, they were married on July 21, 1978; his children Ted & Patti July, Steve & Phyllis July, Kathy Spohn, Matt & Jeanette July and Michelle Mitchell; grandchildren, Joel July, Sarah Felty, Caleb July, Joshua July, Amanda Preston, Eric Spohn, Mark Spohn, Malinda Spohn, Deanna Beaver, Katie July and Ian Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Jacob & Nora July, Brianna July, Caleb Felty and Madalyn Beaver and sisters, Edna Schroeder and Alice Saxton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy July; brothers, Frank July, Ed July; sisters, Josephine July, Ann Young, Helen Kowalski and Sylvia Niec.

Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Otisville Church of Christ, Otisville, MI. Family will greet friends at 10:00 am.
