TRAVERSE CITY: Annette Sue Elliott, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 25, 1948, to Goldie Josephine (DeLong) Tedder and Robert Edgar Tedder. Annette was a resilient lung cancer survivor.

Following her graduation from Pontiac High School in 1966, Annette furthered her education at Oakland Community College, where she laid the foundation for her career as a public servant. In 1973, Annette married Thomas Elliott, and in 1985, they established roots in Traverse City, Michigan, where they raised their three daughters. In more recent years, she moved back to Metro Detroit to live with her middle daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Annette found joy in playing board games, euchre, and poker with family and friends, especially with Keith Purkiss and his family. She had a deep love for reading novels and her daily bible journal, Our Daily Bread. She enjoyed traveling to visit her grown children (from New Jersey to Idaho) and family road trips from Michigan to Florida, playing the ABC game, Eye Spy, and the Silent Game.

A lover of nature and animals, Annette had a passion for gardening, butterflies, wild birds, and her house plants. She cared for cats, dogs, fish, birds, and horses throughout her life.

Annette will be remembered by her children for her humorous sarcasm, love of faith, and always encouraging others to be their best.

Annette is survived by her daughters Amber G Elliott, Sarah E (Elliott) Gagerau, and Rachel A Elliott; son-in-law Alexandru Gagerau, and grandchildren, Emilia J and Elliott A. Gagerau, and Garth William Van Zuyen; her sister-in-law Sharon Allen, husband Ron Allen of Sterling Heights, MI; niece Katherine (Cole) Black, husband Ryan, and McKenna of Fresno, CA; cousin David Delong and family; cousin Bev Stone of Texas; along with many loved family around the country.

Predeceased by her mother and best friend, Goldie J. Tedder, of Waterford, MI; brother Donald J Cole, of Traverse City, MI; and Uncle Don and Aunt Marge Delong of Waterford, MI.

Annette wished for a private Celebration of Life with her children. In her memory, donations can be made to the ASPCA, American Heart Association, or St. Jude.
