Benedict Miller of Elk Rapids went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 15, 2020.
Born to Grace and Benedict Miller on June 30, 1923 in Elk Rapids, Benedict graduated as valedictorian from Elk Rapids high school in 1941 and served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He spent years running and owning King’s Welding shop in Detroit, MI, before retiring and eventually moving to Traverse City, Michigan. Dick was known for his love of card games, deep faith and involvement with Elk Rapids Bible Church, sense of humor, and for staying active.
Benedict is survived by one sister, Lillian of Kewadin; his sons, Ken (Debi) Miller and Mike (Diane) Miller; his daughter, LeeAnn Bogyo; grandchildren, Kristyn (Mike) Lakiotis, Ryan (Cara) Miller, Melanie Miller, and Rachel Miller and four great grandchildren.
Benedict was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Grace Miller; brother, Jack Miller; sister, Virginia, along with his daughter Jeannette Vargas.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Elk Rapids Bible Church. The family will greet friend starting at 10 am. The family preference is to have contributions made to the Elk Rapids Bible Church, 400 East Third St., Elk Rapids, Michigan 49629.
