Betty Jo Reed, 60, of Traverse City, died Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born on December 1, 1964 in Frankfort, Michigan the daughter of Harry Richard and Marilyn Louise (Esch) Wiggins.

She was a self-employed Daycare Operator. Betty loved being with the daycare kids and treated them like her own. She was known to all of them as ‘Nana.’

Betty married Albert Price Reed III on August 1, 1981. She loved to travel to Jamaica with Albert. One year they rededicated their marriage in Jamaica.

Betty enjoyed Sunflowers and grew them at her home. Christmas was her favorite holiday, where she started decorating on November 1st.

Betty is survived by her husband, Albert; children, Anthony Reed of Traverse City, Bille Reed of Texas and Terri (Rob) Cook of Traverse City; grandchildren, Sonny, Adam, Isaiah, Iza, Isabella and Alex; two sisters and two brothers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Albert Price “K C” Reed IV.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2024 at Life Story Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will start at 5:30 pm.
