Betty Frances Williams, 93, of Cadillac, died Thursday, January 25, 2024.

She was born on December 13, 1930, in Statesville, North Carolina, the daughter of James Monroe and Mary Etta (Lackey) Fink.

Betty was a bank teller before she married her husband, Marvin David Williams, March 10, 1957 in North Carolina. After marriage, she became a full-time homemaker.

Betty later worked at Dollar General after son, Mike, could drive. She was very proud of her time working customer service in the pharmacy at Walmart in Lincolnton, North Carolina, where she retired after 15 years of service. She was a member of the First ARP Church in Statesville, North Carolina and the Order of the Eastern Star #58 in Stony Point, North Carolina.

Betty enjoyed visiting Walmart stores in towns she and her husband, David, would pass through on their travels. She also enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb and could grow anything. Betty was an excellent cook, particularly known for her delicious desserts. Betty was always feeding someone and was the epitome of Southern hospitality. Betty loved her family deeply. Most of all, she loved Jesus!

When she moved to Kingsley, she became a member of the Orchard Church and could often be found welcoming new visitors with a tea towel and mini loaf of bread and a smile.

After retirement, she was a devoted caregiver for her late husband, Marvin Williams, her mother-in-law, Virginia Williams, and her brother, Mebane “Red” Fink.

Betty is survived by her son; Michael (Andra) Williams of Kingsley; her grandsons, Dawson Williams of Kingsley and Matthew (fiancée Samantha) Williams of Marquette; her sister, Bonnie Hager of North Carolina, and nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind special friends and caregivers at Cherry Grove AFC and the Orchard Church whom she loved very much!

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at The Orchard Church in Kingsley, MI on February 3 at 2:00pm with visitation prior at 1:00pm. A graveside service will be held on March 9, 2024 at 2 pm at Iredell memorial Park in Statesville, NC for family and friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Orchard Church, 3093 Voice, Rd. Kingsley, Michigan 49649 or the First ARP Church, 123 E. Broad St., Statesville, North Carolina 28677.
