Bonnie Elva (Beck) Rollenhagen, 82, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 with her husband of 62 years by her side. She was born June 28th, 1943, in Muskegon, to L. Lavier and Jenny (Braun) Beck.

Bonnie attended Michigan State University, earning her teaching degree. Later earning her master’s from Madonna University. Bonnie’s career in teaching spanned several states and many different grade levels. From Pre-school to Middle school aged students, in Michigan, New York, and Ohio. Her specialty was teaching reading to those with reading challenges.

Bonnie’s greatest joys came from spending times with family and friends. She made everyone feel included and special. Birthdays and holidays were all celebrated with special attention to detail, even if it was Christmas in a travel trailer in Florida. Bonnie loved to travel, especially to the beach. Lake Michigan was her favorite: Grand Haven, Muskegon, Frankfort, Glen Haven, Cross Village all frequented by her.

After retiring they moved to Traverse City, with winters spent in their motorcoach somewhere at the beach in Florida. These retirement adventures lead Bonnie to explore new crafts with new friends, including watercolor painting, for which she excelled at.

Bonnie is survived by husband, Gordon Rollenhagen; daughter, Mindy (David) Walters; grandchildren, Alea Rollenhagen, Emma and Tanner Walters; daughter-in-law; Kim Rollenhagen. She us preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Beck and son, E. Todd Rollenhagen.

In accordance with Bonnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
