Life Story / Obituary
Brenda Erickson Bower, 56, of Grawn, passed away July 10, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Brenda was born Dec. 24, 1956, to the late Harold and Norma (Bumgardner) Erickson in Traverse City. On Jan 1, 1978, she married Scot Bower, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
Brenda was employed at Bay Ridge Assisted Living; she was a foster mom to many children.
Brenda enjoyed gardening, camping and watching her family race cars. She loved her pets. Most of all Brenda loved to bargain shop. Her saying was always, “If it’s not on sale, then it’s not for sale.”
Brenda is survived by her husband, Scot Bower; sons, William Bower, of Traverse City, Ken Bower, of Grawn, and Tony Charles, also of Grawn; sister, Pam Erickson, of Traverse City; brothers, Don (Cheryl) Erickson and Jeff (Norma) Erickson, of Traverse City; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and Brenda’s two partners in crime, Lisa Wakefield and Sheryl Maull.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.
An informal Celebration of Brenda's life will be held 12pm to 6pm. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Brenda and Scott's home in Grawn.
Donations may be made to Goodwill, General Fund.
