Brenda Matilda Denoyer, 89, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025. She was born on March 13, 1935 in Ludington the daughter of Albert Laude and Bettina Matilda (Sundholm) Vogel.
She graduated from the Ludington High School in 1953 and then attended Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and received her Registered Nursing Degree. Brenda returned to Ludington and became a Nurse with the Ludington Hospital.
She met Floyd Denoyer through friends and they married in Ludington. She moved to Traverse City where Brenda began her Nursing at the Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility. After retirement she worked at H.C. Prange Co. and then Younkers in the Men’s Department. She loved to outfit her husband, Floyd with their fine men’s clothing.
Brenda is a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and very active in the Choir; she loved to sing. Brenda also sang in the Traverse City Community Choir. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed bowling, camping, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her children, David (Lori) Denoyer, Eric (fiancé, Joni Hosler) Denoyer and Andrea (Tom) Couturier; grandchildren, Angela (Geoff) Rulland, Katrina (Chris) Schaub, Sara (Chris Fineout) Denoyer, Adam (fiancé, Hanna Grabowski) Canute, Alex (Sol) Canute, Ryan Couturier and Austin Couturier and great-grandchildren, Arielle Couturier and Owen Denoyer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd William Denoyer and grandson, Matthew Denoyer.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan for the great care the staff provided to Brenda, or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church designate Music, Worship and Choir.
A celebration of life will be announced in the Spring.
