Calvin Zick

Traverse City - Calvin Leroy Zick, 65, of Tendercare of Traverse City went to his heavenly home, Wednesday, August 10, after a battle with cancer. Calvin was born December 22, 1945 in Traverse City to Verl and Joan (Guy) Zick. He spent most of his life in the T.C. area where he made many friends. Calvin worked at the Reeds Inn, Park Place Hotel and Holiday Inn as a chef's assistant where he learned to cook and bake his "angel biscuits". Calvin loved the Lord and shared his faith with many people. Calvin was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Terry Zick, Sam Zick and Bill Zick as well as his sister Dorothy Oleson. Surviving are his mother, Joan Zick Hubbell of Traverse City, brothers Dale (Sandy) Zick of Kewadin, Mi., Stanley (Joy) Zick of Grand Rapids, Mi., Two sisters, Debbie (Tom) Williams of Windsor, Va. and Linda (Paul) Wachter of St. Cloud, Fl., along with many nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held 1:30 pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Clearwater Twp. Cemetery in Rapid City, Mi. Memorial contributions in Calvin's honor may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
