Charles 'Scott' Savage

July 7, 1954 - April 12, 2017

Charles "Scott" Savage, age 62 of Williamsburg, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was born on July 7, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Charles Henry and Norma Jean (Frost) Savage.

Scott was an outdoorsman and raised his girls off the land. He loved spending time with his family and his wife, Tammy. He loved country music and he could dance like no other. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union and from the time he was a young man, he worked beside his dad laying concrete, brick, block and creating field stone works of art.

Scott spent his entire life in the Grand Traverse Area and with his large stature and big heart, he never entered a door and not had a friend on the other side.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Norma Jean Savage; his wife of 15 years, Tammy Savage; his daughters, Amy (Mark) Graves, Rebecca (Steven) Wojdula and Holly (Steven) Lopez; whom he shared with his former spouse, Pamela Erickson.; sisters, Linda Heritier, Ruth (Bill) Benton and Lynita (Randy) Lindner. He is also survived by his wife's children; Heather (Aric) Basilius and Toni (Shawn) Wuolukka; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and of those 3 sets of 5 generations; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Scott is preceded in death by his dad, Chuck and his sister Marty. Marty and Scott were not only brother and sister, they were inseparable best friends. Now they are reunited again.

He was loved by all and will be missed by every life he touched.

An informal gathering with the family will be held 3pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. A brief celebration of life ceremony will start at 5:30 pm. Dress Casual. You could always find Scott in a pair of blue jeans. Scott loved his Levi's. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Please visit www.lifestorytc.com to sign the guest book and share your thoughts and memories with the family. The family chose Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City.
