With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlotte J. Sherman, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many. She was 83, of Interlochen and died Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

She was born on April 27, 1940 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Charles H. Channell Sr. and Sarah W. Harvey Channell.

She grew up on a farm in Beaverton, MI with four siblings where she attended Beaverton High School.

Charlotte met Charlie Sherman in Kalamazoo while working at a restaurant. They were soon married on, April 4, 1960 and had three children before moving north to Interlochen where she lived the remainder of her life.

She was an Avon Sales Representative and Manager and Server at Interlochen Dairy Bar; and also sold cherries at the roadside stand.

Charlotte was a loving and caring sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandma, and friendly neighbor.

She loved to cook, and always had a meal ready if she knew you were coming over. She also liked to make food baskets and meals for those in need. She would spend many hours on the phone to keep in touch with relatives. She always tried to get the relatives together for an annual reunion.

Charlotte enjoyed working on genealogy and building the family tree.

She loved cooking, flower gardening, road trips and camping, picnics at the sand dunes, puzzles, gaming (cards, bingo, or even the casino), and frying up smelt and her homemade egg rolls.

Charlotte is survived by her siblings, Leona (Channell) McManus and Charles Channell Jr.; children, Kevin (Sandy) Sherman, Karen Sherman and Janelle Sherman; grandchildren, Adam (Emily) and Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Toby, Molly, Bailey and Finley.

She is preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Sarah Channell; husband, Charles (Charlie) A. Sherman; and sisters, Ethyl Kimble and Judy Letson.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Meals on Wheels of Northwest Michigan.
