Clois E. 'Bud' Blumberg 72 of Interlochen, formerly of Flint died Sunday, April 21, 2013.

Bud was born on July 1, 1940 in Ionia the son of Clois and Norma (Lovegrove) Blumberg.

He attended the Detroit Business College. Bud was an insurance agent for 34 years retiring from Mutual of Detroit Insurance Company in 1997. He won many awards and also several vacations to Santa Barbara, CA, Orlando, FL and Las Vegas. Bud was greatly respected in the insurance industry and never met a stranger. He was very well liked in each community he lived.

Bud enjoyed camping, gardening, golfing, walking in the woods with his dogs, especially Yuri, playing games on his computer, crossword puzzles and one of his great passions was the love of reading maps of all kinds. His great passion was his family and he was very active in the lives of his grandchildren. He was most proud of his military service and the military service of all his children.

He was a member of the Frankfort American Legion, Jaycees Blooper Ball team, several bowling leagues and formerly the Court Street Methodist Church in Flint. Bud and Jeanne moved to Interlochen in 2003.

Bud is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Fowler) Blumberg; they were married on February 12, 1966 in Flint; children, Christopher( Kim) Blumberg of Carlisle, PA, Steven Blumberg of Millington and Julie Blumberg of Interlochen; grandchildren, Sean Blumberg and Erin Blumberg and sister, Sharon (Larry) Campbell of Sarasota, Florida; sister-in-law, Judy Niergarth of Lapeer and brothers-in-law, William (Donna) Fowler of Clio and Joseph (Jan) Fowler of Mayville and many nieces of nephews. He will be greatly missed by his best friend of over 40 years, Jim Fenner

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Iola Iris and Janice Kathleen; brother-in-law, Tom Fowler and sister-in-law, Debbie Fowler.

He will always be remembered for his laugh and sense of humor and he will be missed by all.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 1:30pm May 24, 2013 at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly; please arrive by 1:15pm in the funeral line up area. . Dinner will follow at IOOF Rebekah Hall, 2134 N. Irish Rd., Davison, Michigan..
