Traverse City, MI - Connie Lee Tessin, 82, of Traverse City, MI passed away at Munson Medical Center, on September 27, 2025. Connie was born on November 5, 1942 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Brian and Lillian (French) Milks. Connie lost her Mother early from illness, and then her Father married Joyce (French) when she was five years old.
Connie graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1960. Her parents owned Moonlight Gardens Roller Rink, once located in the lower level of the Michigan Theatre located on Front Street in Traverse City.
Connie was first married to Francis J. Hughes in Traverse City, MI, with whom she had two children, Deborah and Coreen. On October 1, 1976 she married David L. Tessin of San Diego, CA, her devoted husband of almost 49 years. Together they had their son Karl. Connie's life reflected her deep faith and devotion as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and in creating a loving home for her family. She loved gardening, cooking, art, and reading. A talented seamstress, she used her skills to create countless items for her family and friends who enjoyed receiving her gifts. Connie cleaned homes and businesses, managed a flooring store and she spent 28 years as a valued employee of Walmart.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents: Brian, Lillian, and Joyce, three brothers, Brian, Vern and David (infant) Milks.
Connie is survived by her husband, David L. Tessin, her son Karl Tessin, both of Traverse City, her daughter Coreen (John) Reed of Williamsburg, her daughter Deborah Langley of San Diego, CA and her sister Lillian (Michael) Nemec of Fruitland Park, FL. Her grandchildren — Christina, Alicia, Kyle, and Madelyn — and four great-grandchildren — Natali, Alexia, Sophia, and Marla. She treasured the time she shared with each of them throughout her life.
