David Owen Williamson, 54 of Traverse City died Tuesday, September 5, 2017. David is the father of Ross Williamson and the late Owen Williamson.

From the time David was born, he was a “sweetheart”. Accordingly, his mother used to sing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” as his lullaby when he was a baby. He continued to be a “sweetheart” to those who knew and loved him.

David loved many things in life: music (he was integral in the success of RPM Records, helping out his good friend, Greg Walton), crossword puzzles, hockey, fishing, boating, water skiing and cliff jumping at the family cottage on Manitoulin Island to name a few. David’s sons, Owen and Ross, were the greatest loves of David’s life and he was one proud father.

We’re not going to post the names of who survives David, his date of graduation, or any of the other “typical” information that one usually reads in an obituary - David was not your “typical” person - he truly was” one-of-a-kind” and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held 1pm. Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Life Story Funeral Home. The family will continue an informal gathering until 3pm.

Memorial contributions or donations may be made to the Owen P. Williamson Musical Theatre Scholarship through Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation, 250 E. Front Street, Suite 310, Traverse City, Michigan 49684 or a charity/organization of one's choice.
