Donald Garvin

Donald Tru Garvin 80 years young of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Thursday

August 3, 2023 at the Medilodge of Leelanau Suttons Bay, Michigan.

Don was born September 25, 1942 in Traverse City, Michigan to Hilda Jane (Harrington)

and Victor Peter Garvin who preceded him in death.

Don was also preceded in death by his brother Larry Garvin and wife Agnes (Houdek)

Garvin.

Agnes gave him a son and three daughters, Jackie (Brook) Haske, Linda (Bret) Pelkey,

Daniel Garvin, and Mary (Brian) Heembrock.

Don married Linda Lou (Nelson) Garvin on April 10, 2003. Linda brought Don three

bonus daughters, Erin (Shawn) Brady, Shannon Brady, and Kortnee (Bill) Bagley.

Don is also survived by his brother Gary Garvin, sister Patsy (Stanley) Wisniewski, his

grandchildren, Aaliyah, and Jessica. Bonus grandchildren, Sarah (Roger), Shane

(Cassie), Maurine (Jon), Darbi, Sean, Elijah. Great-grandchildren, Brayden. And another

great-grandbaby on the way.

Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, collecting coins and knives, as well as a love for

a beautiful yard and a love for cars, walks around the Civic Center, Grand Traverse Mall

and the Labor Day walk across the Mackinac Bridge. He also enjoyed trips to the

Sleeping Bear Dunes, Upper Peninsula, Flea Markets, spending time watching GunSmoke

and many other old westerns. Don was a devoted husband, and a loving brother, father to

all of his children, grandchildren and his one great grandson and a friend to many.

at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City, Michigan.
