Donna Weber

Donna Marie Weber, 91, of Buckley, passed away at Munson Medical Center Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

She was born on the family farm September 4, 1929 at Monroe Center to Edwin and Revella (LaLone) Nickerson. Donna graduated Valedictorian of her class at Buckley High School.

She married her only love Joseph "Jay" Weber on October 23, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Hannah. Jay and Donna were members of St. Mary's for their 72 years of marriage.

Donna worked as a cashier at Montgomery Wards, a ticket agent for North Star and Greyhound Bus Lines, a Munson Medical Center cashier, and in the dietary department of Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 31 years. Her favorite jobs were wife, mother, farm helper, and tractor driver.

She also made time to serve as President of the Buckley School Board for 8 years, PTA President for 2 years, St Mary's Festival worker of the year in 1981, and helped serve many funeral meals.

Donnas' hobbies included deer hunting, stock car racing in which she was 1st place Champion 3 years in a row, and riding/driving horses. She also baked and decorated many wedding cakes. If you were to have asked her what her favorite hobbies were, she would say, "I enjoy cooking, canning, and baking for my family, grandchildren, and friends. I also enjoy tractor driving."

Donna is survived by Jay; her children, Brenda (Edward) Breitmeyer, Marvin (Theresa) Weber, and Randy (Shawn) Weber; sisters, Juanita Pierce, Linda (Ross) Williams, brother; Amos Nickerson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane Biegler, Ray Weber, Sister Aquinas Weber, Thelma Weber, Barbara Weber, Mary Ellen Weber, and many special grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brother, Andy Nickerson; sister, Dorothy Biegler. The Weber brothers-in-law, Vincent, Ambrose, Clarence, Daniel, Carl, Paul, Joseph "Jack", and Dick Wagner. The Weber sisters-in-law; Lucille, Ruth, Dorothy, Patricia, Bernadine, Marguerite Wagner, and Shirley Nickerson.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Saturday, February 27, 2021, at St. Mary Church, Hannah; with a visitation starting at 10 am. Face Masks are required and a limited amount of seating is available for mass. Memorials may be made in Donna’s honor to St. Mary Church, of Hannah, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
