Doris Hansen of Buckley passed away at her home on Monday, July 18, 2022 with her 4 children by her side. She was born on November 2, 1927 on the family farm on Ramsay Rd, Grant Twp., Thompsonville to Ferris and Isophena (Pike) Ramsay.

Doris worked at the Buckley School in the library, was a playground supervisor, in the janitorial department, assisted in the lunchroom, supervised the school’s summer youth workers and was always keeping an eye on the students, for many years.

She was a “hard driven” worker on the family dairy farm that she was raised on. She worked alongside her dad delivering milk to the many customers on the route.

She married Robert Hansen on October 30, 1948. After she married, she also worked on her husband’s family potato farm, which was across the road.

Doris worked on her own farm with her husband, raising cattle, pigs, chickens and worked in the crop fields. She could handle a bale of hay like no other.

An organized person she was. Early years she enjoyed snowmobiling, reading, some crocheting, euchre, canning all things from her garden, providing large family meals that she cooked and was a rummy champion. Even as she aged, she would have the table ready to play rummy, cards dealt waiting for you to get there. Doris worked at the church food bank.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Sandy Wilson and Diane (Pete) Price; sons, Mickey (Mary Smith) Hansen and Gus (Angie Day) Hansen; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Mildred McDaniels and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Hansen who died July 13, 2015; her grandsons, Rickey Price who died May 19, 2011 and Christopher Hansen who died April 30, 2003; siblings, Kenneth Ramsay and Wilma Ramsay and son-in-law, Delbert Wilson
