Dorothy Ann Schaub, 74, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was born on December 3, 1947 in Frankfort, the daughter of Wendell and Patricia (Doan) Worden.

As a young girl, she moved to Boise, Idaho to live with grandparents. She graduated from the Boise High School. After high school she moved to Traverse City.

Dorothy retired from the Salvation Army Thrift Store after 27 years, where she held many positions. She also previously worked at the Munson Medical Center and Bortz Healthcare.

She was a devoted member of the Salvation Army. Dorothy taught Sunday School, assisted with the Sunbeam Youth Group and the Salvation Army Home League Ladies Group. She was dedicated to the Salvation Army Toy Shop and like to play cards, especially Euchre.

Dorothy loved being with her grandchildren. She also liked to camp at Platte Lake each summer and traveling to see Lighthouses. She had many Lighthouse figurines in her home.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Michael Schaub; they were married on June 29, 1968 at St. Francis Catholic Church; children, Sandy (Rob) McClintock and their children, Steve (Betsy) Schaub and their children, Tina (Mark) Clark and their children; great-grandchildren, and brother, Scott Worden, and sisters, Niki Sheren and Cyndi (Porter) Blattenberger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wendy Sue Worden and niece, Jessi Sedlacek.

The family’s preference is to have Memorial Contributions made to the Salvation Army.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 am, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Salvation Army Church, 1239 Barlow St. The family will greet friends starting at 10 am. A luncheon will follow the service. A private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City.
