Franklin Deleno Sorna, 87 passed away January 10, 2025.

He was born in Detroit to Joseph Sorna and Elizabeth (Trynacty) Sorna.

After he graduated from High School, he joined the United States Navy. He served 4 years and was a proud Veteran.

On August 3, 1963, he married Judith Kay Pettit at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. They spent 60 years together.

In 1968, Franklin moved his family to Karlin, Michigan. He and Judith bought and ran the Karlin Market & Deli together for 46 years. Together, they had three children, Jeffery (Elayne) Sorna, Beth Ann (Steven) Grumley and Cathy (Brent) Lundstrum. He is survived by 8 Grandchildren, Tyler Youker, Amanda (Drew) Wyse, Andrew Youker, Lily Ritola, Avery (Giovanni) Alawdi, Michael (Morgan) Grumley, Alicia Grumley and Matthew (Meghan) Grumley. He also had 7 great grandchildren.

Franklin was a member of Sokal, The Masonic Temple and Shriners International. He enjoyed catering and fishing on Mud Lake.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Judith Kay and siblings.

Per his request, Franklin has been cremated. A memorial celebration will be held for him and Judith later this year.
