Glen Cornell

Glen Otis Cornell 92 of Traverse City died Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Glen was born August 1, 1920 in Traverse City the son of Otis Austin and Leonetta (Youker) Cornell.

He owned Cornell Engine Rebuilders and later worked in sales of auto parts and equipment. After retirement he was a gunsmith building and repairing various guns.

Glen was a life member of the Cherryland VFW Post #2780; the NRA and Disabled American Veterans. During World War II; Glen became a disabled veteran.

He was a pilot and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gun repair.

Glen is survived by his children, Sandra Lee Metcalf of Traverse City, Carol Cornell of Hesperia, Glenda Hodge of Austin, Texas and Robert Cornell of Kingsley; grandchildren, Richard, Kelly, Lynne, Lori, Tom, Tim, Debbie, Tina, Vicki, Holly, Lara, Tonya, Pam, Cassandra and Robert; 31 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents: Otis and Leonetta, wife: Marjorie F. Cornell (Eikey), who died June 6, 1995, daughter Colleen Cornell and granddaughter: Katrina.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Life Story Funeral Home in Traverse City, where the family will greet friends starting at 10:00am.
